Slightly spicy tasting sauce made with provola cheese and added Calabrian chili pepper. This creamy, spicy sauce is ready to dress pizzas and white flatbreads to be baked in the oven for a few minutes. Great on its own or with the addition of vegetables and ham.
To make a pizza in just a few minutes, simply open the jar and spread the sauce directly onto rolled-out dough. For a richer and more varied version add fresh vegetables or vegetables in oil, and deli meats of your choice. Bake at 250° until fully cooked. To be tried spread on toast.
In Sardinia, French and Italian archaeologists have found traces of baking bread dating back to over 7000 years ago and it was bread. Since ancient times, therefore, a dough similar to what would become pizza was prepared, a dough that was seasoned in many different ways to flavor it and vary the recipes. Modern pizza, on the other hand, originated in Naples in the 18th century. Initially it was a popular dish among the poorer classes because it was cheap, tasty, and easy to eat. But the international fame of this traditional Italian dish is due to Gennaro Esposito, who in 1889 made a pizza in honor of Queen Margherita of Savoy with the colors of the Italian flag: “la Margherita” was born, which would become one of the strong symbols of Italian style in the world.
