“Friggitelli” — like all peppers — originate from Central and South America and were introduced to Europe after the discovery of the Americas in the 16th century. In Italy, they are mainly grown in the southern regions.
Friggitelli contain vitamin C, beta-carotene (a precursor to vitamin A), and flavonoids. They help fight free radicals, protecting cells and tissues from premature aging, and aid digestion.
These small sweet peppers are very low in calories and are great because they satisfy hunger without being heavy. Friggitelli also help regulate blood pressure and muscle function thanks to the potassium and other natural minerals they contain.
